Here’s how it works: People agree to write a story for another person, who in turn will write a story for another person. Sign up, provide us with some prompts and a list of your likes/dislikes, and when you get your assignment, start writing.

All assignments will be anonymous – that’s half the fun!

The White Collar Pairings Exchange is a fic swap challenge for lovers of White Collar Fan Fiction, with an unabashed affinity for slash and OT3 stories, though canon relationships are certainly welcome.

Here’s how it works: People agree to write a story for another person, who in turn will write a story for another person. Sign up, provide us with some prompts and a list of your likes/dislikes, and write away. All assignments and initial postings will be anonymous – that’s half the fun!
If you’re requesting a fic, it’s assumed that you’re able and willing to write a fic in return.  

- You can request a fic about any character pairing, as long as those characters are established in canon. Want to feel the Hughes/Jones love – go for it. Just feeling some Diana/El? Yeah!  Crossovers and RPF/RPS are also allowed. Gen prompts are also extremely welcome, cherished and adored, but if slashery makes you clutch the pearls, you may want to move along...

 All assignments will be given anonymously, as will postings.  In other words, this is a double-blind.  You won't know who you're writing for!  All will be revealed at the end of the challenge.

- Your fic should be at least 800 words in length. You are more than welcome to write more than that. If your story is in several chapters/sections, please be sure to submit it all at once to the mods; no WIPs will be posted. 

- The stories will be posted anonymously by the mods. At the end of the exchange there will be posted a master list with the authors’ name. Please don't post your story anywhere else before the challenge is over. 

The Prompts: 

- Please provide 5-10 prompts.

Just because this is a slash/OT3 challenge, your prompts and fills DO NOT have to involve teh sexeh. Established relationship/domestic bliss is also a great thing. Gen prompts and stories are also most welcome.

You can be as detailed or vague as you want when filling out your prompt. Your fic giver will do her/his best in fulfilling your wishes, but remember, leave some room for artistic license.

To assist us in making the matchings in the best possible way, you can also tell us what type of prompts you like - specific or general, simple or complex.  When we make the assignments, we'll try to keep this in mind

Due dates posted: May 1

Assignment due: Within 48 hours of your due date
Posting starts: June 5th – just in time for the start of S3!!!



What is the word limit?

The minimum word count for all fiction is 800 words. There is no upper limit.



Can I write/request RPF?

Yes.

Can I write/request Gen?
Yes. Some of our favorite fics are Gen. Only some.

Can I write/request  a crossover?

Yes, you can. The mods will do their best to match you up with someone who shares your crossover love.

What is your spoiler policy? 
Anything for Seasons 1 & 2 is fair game. To be fair to the spoilerphobes, please don’t use anything you may have learned about Season 3.


Do I need a beta?

That’s between you and your god/goddess, but if you need one, we’ll post a beta pimp entry where you can post your request/offer to beta. Beta volunteers, of course, will be sent boatloads of virtual cookies and cherries.



What happens if I can't make the deadlines?

Then you need to let us know as soon as you can. Hopefully, we’ve allowed enough time for peeps to write their stories (six weeks). Also, given the due dates, we hope that folks with school commitments can also play along quite comfortably.



Can I post my story on my LJ/DW/Ao3/website etc? 

Of course! The only thing we ask is that you wait until after the challenge has concluded and all fics have been posted by the mods.



Can I join the community?

Not only can you join, you should!  If you are participating, it’s a good idea to join so that you will receive any updates.
